Naithon beach Phuket

A beautiful bay in north west Phuket

Naithon beach is a smallish beach on Phuket’s west coast. To the south are Layan and Bangtao beaches, north is Naiyang and Phuket International airport.

Naithon is one of Phuket’s more remote beaches. It’s really beautiful and used to be a best kept secret for Phuket locals. Whilst it is still one of Phuket’s quieter beaches, and almost deserted in low season, the secret is out and in high season it has it’s fair share of discerning tourists.

Pullman resort Naithon

The Pullman Arcadia resort is at the north headland of the bay. The southern headland is home to some luxury villas such as the Maliawana.

Naithon beach has lovely fine sand that squeaks as you walk on it (Karon beach does the same).

The sand slopes gently in to the water and is usually crystal clear, making Naithon beach excellent for swimming. There is also some descent snorkeling at either end of the beach, around the granite boulders. The rocky reef is home to quite a bit of fish life, considering the proximity to shore and the local fishermen. Look for trumpet fish, crocodile needle fish and parrot fish among others.

Naithon beach restaurant

The beach road that runs just behind the beach and is handy for parking if you drive to Naithon yourself. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from along the road, or you can get food from street cart vendors.

If you want sun loungers and umbrellas you can hire them on the beach. Or if you prefer to lay on your beach towel there is empty space at either end of the bay. You can also get shade from the trees in the morning.

Transfers for diving from Naithon beach

There is an extra charge to collect divers from Naithon beach. It’s quite a distance from the main road and about one hour drive from Chalong bay where the Phuket day trip dive boats depart from. The shared transfer service does not pass Naithon so we can either arrange a private taxi for you, or you can drive yourself to the pier. Actually for Phuket local diving day trips it’s more convenient to stay in south Phuket.
