Bida Nai is a small island south of Koh Phi Phi Ley and together with Koh Bida Nok is one of the best places to dive around Phi Phi.

Most Phuket dive boats do at least one dive at Phi Phi Bida Nai or Bida Nok, before moving to Palong bay. Sometimes they dive both Bida Nai and Nok if conditions are excellent, or if whale sharks are circling.

The limestone islands rise are stunning above and below water. Hard and soft corals, barrel sponges and huge gorgonian seafans are home to too many reef fish to list. Leopard sharks can be seen laying in sand patches, normally off from the south east corner of the island in an area called Fantasy reef. Black tip reef sharks patrol the deeper areas, the best time to see them is in the morning.

Big schools of jacks hunt smaller fish in the blue. On the reef you can find banded sea snakes, moray eels, lionfish, scorpionfish, turtles and so much more.

Critters include ornate ghost pipefish, seahorses, porcelain crabs (under anemones) and boxer shrimps.

Diving is possible all year round and is suitable for all levels of diver. The reef starts shallow and descends down to around 35 metres. The visibility is really variable. On a good day it can be 30 metres plus, but often it can be a bit green.
