On On hotel Phuket's first hotel The On On hotel was the first hotel to open in Phuket and it's still there on it's original site on Phang Nga road in Phuket old town. The hotel had run in to disrepair but has been completely renovated and restored and is now branded as "The Memory at On On." "On On" comes from the Chinese word Un Un, which means ‘Happiness for all Visitors.’ A nice thing about Phuket Town is how pleasant it is to walk around. New restaurants, bars and cafes are popping up all the time and it seems like a new piece of street art gets painted on a wall every week. Ao Chalong hotels Where to stay in Chalong bay If you are coming to Phuket primarily to dive then Chalong bay is the perfect place to stay as most Phuket local dive boats depart daily from Chalong pier. Ao Chalong lacks a nice beach so it's not the place for a beach vacation. But if you'll be on the dive boat all day and just need a nice dinner and a few beers at night then staying in Chalong is ideal. Orange Pier GH For accommodation there are plenty budget places and a few nicer hotels resorts. Here are a few that we recommend. These are all close enough to the pier that you can walk there. Pier 42, a stylish boutique hotel with a small poolVery convenient for everything. Next to the pier, almost opposite a 7 Eleven, close to dive shops, bars and restaurants.It has a nice little cafe for coffee in the morning.It has an attached spa for massage and general pampering.Orange Pier Guesthouse. If you walk up Sunrise road to the roundabout (referred to at Chalong circle or Hayaek Chalong) an turn right you will find banks, more shops and a local market.
